There’s plenty of online help for self-publishing authors, even on the websites of the companies that you won’t be using. A huge number of writers, agents and publishers are also bloggers who dispense information every day. (I do it, too, at BookMakingBlog.) For more, just do a search for “self-publish,” “POD,” etc.

Yahoo hosts some excellent groups:
• Print On Demand
• Self-Publishing
• POD_publishers
• There is some overlap, but join all three. Membership is free.
• Some groups, such as e-book publishing, are filled with spam messages.

LinkedIn.com has many great resources—too many to list here. Search for such terms as writers, authors, grammar, publishing, self-publishing, e-books, print on demand, novelist, nonfiction, fiction, crime, Kindle.

The Midwest Book Review has a huge amount of useful and well-organized information for writers and self-publishers.
Book designer Joel Friedlander offers information, discussions and valuable advice on a wide range of topics of inter-est to self-publishers at TheBookDesigner.com.
