(from Michael)

This is a confusing book. It has two covers and four titles:

  1. Can I Write a Best Seller in a day or less?
  2. HOW TO WRITE A BOOK
  3. HOW TO WRITE YOUR BEST SELLER IN A DAY OR LESS
  4. How to in a day or less

Is the author schizophrenic, or merely indecisive, or a marketing genius?

The basic premise of writing a best seller -- or bestseller -- in 84 hours is, of course, absurd; but it makes for a catchy title.

The book (which is specifically intended for publishing nonfiction e-books) teaches potential authors how to use online research to choose a topic and audience and to harvest material for rewriting. The basic structure of the instant book is to answer readers' questions (probably a good idea).

The book has some lapses in editing such as: "If you are not handy with graphic design, then pay one to create for you a good and nice cover" and "9$." The author provides a variety of links that may be useful. He says that one will allow you to "create immediately an e-cover in less than a minute."

That one minute is as unlikely as writing a bestseller in a day or less. So is "If you can spear one hour a day to write your books using this method, that means you will have TEN great and unique books written every month, or 120 books written a year! That’s really cool!"

Among the hype, the book provides some useful but bare-bones advice for publishing an e-book. It does not, however, actually explain how to turn words into a book.  You can buy this book for $2.99, or borrow it for free. Those prices are OK.
